St Pauls Café

I saw you today You gave me an hour at your favourite café All I wanted to say Got lost in a meaningless conversation Endless words About our previous lovers And with Lana Del Rey's Summertime Sadness in the speakers You wore no make up You were so beautiful Oh, I know this one's gonna hurt Oh, Julia Please don't go Just stay an hour And I'll tell you all How I feel And who I am How we could be Oh, we would be so good together You and me and the last days of summer But I'm just your friend and will be forever Oh, I know Who am I A dreamer living a real life So here I am You've got me wrapped around your finger You tousle my hair And say that you really love my style And then you laugh 'Cause Filas and crew cuts are so out of style And your jealous lover Why does he even bother? I've got nothing to offer Oh, Julia Stay an hour And I'll tell you about How I can't sleep at nights ´Cause you're with him And not with me Why can't you see? We would be so good together You and me and the last days of summer But I'm just your friend and will be forever Oh, I know You wear shades and a summer jacket As we walk through old town Just like lovers do Oh, Julia Stay an hour And I'll tell you all about How I can't sleep at nights ´Cause you're with him And not with me Can't you see? We would be so good together You and me and the last days of summer But I'm just your friend and will be forever Oh, I know Julia

Come Home 04:41
I can still taste your skin On my lips And feel the scent of you Here in my sheets And I didn’t know what Hunger was like Until you came along And made me starve for you night after night after night Oh, I know I did wrong and all the things that I said Now I can’t get them out of my head Please, come home I know I did wrong and there are things I regret Now I just want you back here, in my bed Please, come home You’re on my drunk mind As I dance through the night Dancing with strangers And getting lost in the lights Between who I was And who I will be I’m held back by your ghost And the one that I couldn’t be I know I did wrong and all the things that I said Now I can’t get them out of my head Please, come home I know I did wrong and there are things I regret Now I just want you back here, in my bed Please, come home I know I did wrong and all the things that I said Now I can’t get them out of my head Please, come home I know I did wrong and there are things I regret Now I just want you back here, in my bed Please, come home When are you coming home? I want you so bad I need you so bad Please, come home

about

"St. Pauls Café" is the 2nd track to be lifted from the forthcoming EP "The Dying Dandy" set for release on March 17th.

With its catchy hooks, warm melodies and big chorus "St Pauls Café" is one of their strongest singles so far in the bands short career.
Once again songwriter, singer/guitarist Magnus Haderborg, shows what a storyteller he is building up scenes, characters and emotions in this tale of unrequited love.

As a bonus b-side you get "Come Home" which was one of the songs the band recorded for their debut album but was rejected as they didn't feel that it would fit with the theme of the other songs.

Although it didn't make the final cut for the album, several friends and fans of the band have enjoyed the early demo recordings of the song and have been asking them to release it, so here it is!

"Come Home" was also actually the first song The Vapour Veils played at their very first rehearsal, together with "I Am Human and I Need To Be Loved" and "Vapour Veils" to name a few, until Magnus ended up going to the hospital after receiving an electric shock from a mal functioning guitar amplifier. But that's an whole other story...
