Sundays and The Sea

Sundays 03:52
Day after day you get on the train From Kensal Rise to Camden Town You spend your days working in a shop Selling teenage dreams and vintage clothes Day after day, the same routine We're only as dark as the secrets we keep The weekends always start at Paradise Where lines and friends and drinks go by As you enter the night Oh, oh I know You set the night on fire to forget about yesterday Oh, oh I know Every Monday morning comes and it's all the same again You sometimes dream of taking off Leaving behind you the lights of London Maybe a month in Spain would do it Or a move to New York, just like in the movies Day after day, oh it's time for a change When London feels too small and you need to escape You thought that you'd be somewhere else by now With someone who would love you and give you the world Living the high life Oh, oh You set the night on fire to forget about yesterday Oh, oh I know Every Monday morning comes and it's all the same again He's gone Oh, what will you do? He left a memory and now it's growing in you Oh, oh I know You wake up naked and alone And tomorrow it's Monday Oh, oh I know You set the night on fire to forget about yesterday Oh, oh I know Every Monday morning comes and it's all the same again He's gone What will you do? He left a memory and now it's growing in you You're only 22, what will you do? He didn't use protection and now it's growing in you

The Sea 06:21
It's Friday morning And you rush out of bed Getting dressed for success And then you're off To the office towers where you work as an intern At the firm that your daddy owns And later you'll take the train from Victoria Station To Worthing Where you grew up in a house by the sea And I will be back here Standing in the bar Serving gentlemen on a role Wasting time on going nowhere at all Oh, Claudia What have you become? What if your daddy knew That you're slumming on St Pauls Avenue? Take a look at yourself You and no one else It's in the air that we breathe We share the same chemistry Your boyfriend is coming too With some friends of yours And you'll hang out in a house by the sea Having cocktails And telling jokes about the bartender Around the corner from where you work Who always look at you You can see that he's dreaming Of someone and a life he'll never have Oh, if they only knew That we're fucking And that the air that we breathe Holds the same chemistry No matter what class we're supposed to be Oh, Claudia What have you become? What if your daddy knew That you're slumming on St Pauls Avenue? Take a look at yourself You and no one else It's in the air that we breathe We share the same chemistry I know I'm your favourite waste of time And that's all I will ever be You don't fool me I know you can't love me 'Cause I can't buy you a life by the sea Oh, Claudia What have you become? What if your daddy knew That you're slumming on St Pauls Avenue? Take a look at yourself You and no one else It's in the air that we breathe We share the same chemistry I know your kind, Claudia You're from a different class We breathe the same air And that's the only chemistry we share

about

The Vapour Veils are back with two new tracks, just in time for the summer holidays!

The a-side single "Sundays" is a catchy and sunny summer tune, apart from being an awesome live song, dealing with everyday life and dreaming of something else while eating one's heart out over sudden turn of events.

"The Sea" is a somewhat laidback reminder of that the class you were born into is probably also the class you will die in.
People change, hearts change but the classes remain the same.

Lead vocalist and guitarist Magnus Haderborg wrote the songs while looking back on his days living in London, the people around him and things that went down in places like Paradise in Kensal Green, an apartment on St Pauls Avenue and the bar over on South Bank where he worked.

The cover art photo was shot by award winning musician Sara Almgren from INVSN.
